Fortnite Developer Wants To Change The Game’s Endgame
Epic Games seems to agree that this is a problem, because in a new blog post, they admit that the end game in the battle royale mode is not conducive to the variety of play styles the game can otherwise support.
“It’s important to support a variety of late game strategies, that don’t boil down to “just build lol”. We strongly believe that the evolution of Fortnite supports a wide range of play styles and counterplay. Currently, the superiority of shotguns, rockets, and uncapped building are such a dominant play style in the final circle that most other strategies are being drowned out,” they said. And I’m not the one who bolded that text, they did, so it’s clear they feel a bit strongly about this.
What are the changes they will make to fix this? Well, nerfing the weapons that are spammed the most, such as the rocket launcher and shotgun, are listed as the obvious fixes, but they are also experimenting with things like resource caps (so you can’t just spam towers upon towers). They mention they will be inviting community engagement and input, which is also good.

Commend Epic for changing the end game meta. Risky move but what is fun about have the same meta. It's nice for a potential change up to happen.

So everyone that is trash at building should learn what they are doing...
I've seen people camp till the end and out of nowhere they become build gods i find it hilarious.
I like finishing my games middle circle and playing aggressive.

This would be a horrible move by them. If they limit the builds it will ruin the game. I mean it's FORTnite....cmon lrn2build

Personally, I'd welcome the change. I hate building, especially for defense purposes. My brain just doesn't work like that. The regular gun fights are very fun though. I can see how they could be hesitant though. When you build something that is so popular, it is hard to make changes to the foundation of it. Kind of how Call of Duty was considered "copy and pasted" each year for the longest time. It makes so much money and changing the foundation could be disastrous. Will be interesting to see what they do with it. Selfishly, I'd probably put like a cooldown or something on the building. Something where you can put build but you are vulnerable once that wall is destroyed. Walls instantly going up, in my opinion, is a bit problematic.

This will ruin the game. If they continue to focus on average players it will just push away all the good players and streamers to different games. Building takes time to master, once you've put in a lot of time you become good and you know what youre doing. The way its currently going in is not good.

Building is what separates Fortnite from all other battle royal games. If they take away the main concept of the game or even limit the amount of supplies, it would change it for the worse in my opinion.
