Report: Grand Theft Auto V Won’t Be Getting Any Single Player DLC

3.7
Ever since the game’s release a few years back, many players have been wondering – would we ever see single-player downloadable content for Grand Theft Auto V? We know we’ve been seeing strong support on the Online end with various additions to the game, but we have yet to see an expansion to the story. Sadly, it doesn’t look like we’ll be getting one.

Mammoth Gamers has reported that, following months and months of rumors that we would (or wouldn’t) be getting that content for the game, an inside source that used to work with the team indicates that it’s not happening.

A former Rockstar DLC developer who worked on Grand Theft Auto Online for some time has talked to the site, indicating, “There is absolutely no chance (of GTAV since player DLC); they simply make too much money by investing in GTA Online.”)

Now, of course, this should be taken with a grain of salt, as Rockstar Games hasn’t made any official comment on the DLC, nor does it have any indication that it’s in development. It almost seems like a no-brainer, though – Grand Theft Auto V has been on the best-seller list for years across the board for each platform, and with players invested in both its single player campaign and its Online component, with its many activities and racing events.

GTA Online is still getting ample support though, and it seems like Rockstar is putting a lot of planning into Red Dead Redemption 2 when it releases next year, with the possibility of expansions along the same lines as the Undead Nightmare pack that released for the original game several years ago. That’s not confirmed yet, but it seems very likely, especially with the buzz surrounding the game since its announcement last year.

For now, Grand Theft Auto V still has a lot to offer, with a single player campaign that takes hours to beat; and, of course, its Online portion with its massive amount of players and activities. So it’s not the end of the world if that’s the conclusion of the story – we just expected a little more.

Grand Theft Auto V is available now for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.

I am a single player fan myself but I can see why they are doing it.

Single player isn't too popular anymore really so I can see why there stopping the DLC
Bit of a waste of time really

Don't really play single player so it doesn't really affect me, but a lot of people were expecting DLC in single player so I understand why they would be frustrated.

Wish Rockstar would stop worrying about all these trash DLC's and just make one massive awesome cheap DLC, or even better just make a GTA 6.

Online DLC is just a bunch of overpriced junk. Wew, a new $5,000,000 car that is only that high to make me want to buy shark cards. **** off Rockstar and Take Two. Single Player is great but the Online is just a bunch of little kids running around and spending their mom's credit card to buy the new "DLC". With boring missions (besides the heists, but even they get boring) with little payout to actually aid you in buying what is new, it's hard to defend this practice.

GTA Online is a bland, boring online mode to GTA V that had so much wasted potential and it's just milked for more money nowadays.

Daniel Don't know why people thought they were going to bring a dlc to story mode, I knew it would never happen, come on it's rockstar we are talking about here.

You must be forgetting that their last two open world games have had single player DLC. Red Dead Redemption and GTA IV.
