Infinity Ward Reveals Punishment for Infinite Warfare supply drop Cheaters

4.6
Users who exploited a bug in Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare’s 12 Days of Winter giveaway to accumulate hundreds of rare items are today learning the full extent of their punishment.

In addition to being temporarily banned, an in-game message has informed affected users that they’ve also had their salvage and in-game keys reset to zero.

While it had already been reported that affected players would receive a 48-hour suspension in line with Activision’s Security and Enforcement Policy, it was unclear as to how else they would be impacted. Developer Infinity Ward’s actions are clearly meant to serve as a deterrent to future exploiters.

The bug in question, which led to the first-person shooter’s servers being temporarily taken offline last month, allowed users to open a reward box containing 20 keys indefinitely.
