Infinite Warfare Only Sold 1.8 Million Copies Its First Week in the US

4.6
We knew that sales of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare were down compared to previous years; however, we now know just how much they are down by. Not long after its release, launch week sales of Infinite Warfare were said to be down by nearly 50% on Black Ops III.

According to VGChartz, Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare only managed to sell 1.8 million copies on PS4, Xbox One, and PC during its launch week in the US. These figures only account for physical copies, although digital copies aren’t expected to make much difference to the overall numbers. Call of Duty: Black Ops III for comparison, which launched last year, sold over 3 million copies during its first week.

The sales of Infinite Warfare make for extremely disappointing reading for Activision when you compare them to sales of Modern Warfare 2 and Modern Warfare 3 which were released during the peak of Call of Duty’s popularity. Both Modern Warfare 2 and Modern Warfare 3 sold around 10 million copies each during their launch weeks worldwide. It looks unlikely that when worldwide sales of Infinite Warfare are included that it will come anywhere close to those figures, with the US being one of the biggest markets for Call of Duty.

When it comes to how many copies of Infinite Warfare were sold on each platform, PS4 led the way with 830,989 copies with Xbox One not far behind with 781,551. Physical PC sales of Infinite Warfare for Steam were just a little over 200,000.

The inclusion of Modern Warfare Remastered was thought to have helped push sales of Infinite Warfare, although it doesn’t like this was the case judging by the sales figures. We don’t yet know how many of those sales mentioned above are for the standard edition of the game or for the Legacy Edition which included Modern Warfare Remastered.

They would have even lower sales if MWR wasn't included.
MWR is the only reason I got the game.

CoD died when they released advanced warfare... After that game they should of known they **** up & should of gone back to the way CoD used to be.

HaloPosted:

ttgkaleb What they need to do is just sell cod 4 separate get there money back learn from their mistake... Battlefield & CoD need too Merge & I create a fire ass open world Army game

Battlefield is doing fine, I think if the two developers joined together then IW would bring em down.

XboxPosted:

We all knew this game would be trash why would we want to buy it ? Exactly only for the MWR they would release the stats on that who bought the legacy edition or the regular one.

This doesn't surprise me one bit. Everyone wanted a boots on the ground shooter and they didn't do it, even if they did spend years working on this they knew years before it wasn't what the fans wanted at the time and they still released it. I used to be a call of duty fan in till Ghosts came out which is when all the futuristic crap came into play.

I hope this makes the developers come to a realization that this isn't call of duty, and this isn't what the fans want. We don't want futuristic movement. We don't want laser weapons. We want to be able to climb ladders, mantle over obstacles. I wanna be able to jump off a tall building, and DIE FROM FALL DAMAGE.

Hopefully the developers get the picture now. Maybe they will return to boots on the ground and enough of this jumping around nonsense. The only reason I got the game was for remastered.

50% lower than Black Ops 3... That really brings it into comparison wow.

Not a big shocker here, but still a massive number.
