Infinite Warfare Disc Required To Play Modern Warfare Remastered

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is getting a full remaster for the PS4 and Xbox One. This remaster is also unfortunately tied to the purchase of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare for now atleast. This means that if you want to get Modern Warfare Remastered, you will have to purchase the legacy edition of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare.

According to an update on the official FAQ for Modern Warfare Remastered, the game will apparently require the Infinite Warfare disc in order to be played on the console. This limitation likely only applies to the retail version of the game as it was possible to sell the base Infinite Warfare game while keeping Modern Warfare Remastered.

There is no such choice available to those who pre-order the game digitally hence they can delete Infinite Warfare from their console and keep Modern Warfare Remastered.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered will launch with just 10 MP maps and the multiplayer won’t go live till November 4th. There is early access available for the base game for those who own the Legacy Edition digitally on either the PS4 or Xbox One.

Vancouver_Canucks At the cost of not being able to play MW Remastered, i won't be buying Infinite Warfare. I'd rather wait till it becomes available without the purchase of some sub-par game.

"Sub-par game"? The game routinely gets 81 or higher on metacritic. I hardly believe that a game that consistently releases titles that are successful is going to release a sub par game this year.

Reviews are only relevant to the person that wrote it, or thought it. With Infinite Warfare, i'd bet over half the audience who proceed to buy the game, don't enjoy it. But when playing MW Remastered, i'd bet well over 85% do enjoy it.

There's games which i'm sure you love, which others hate. Just because Metacritic and IGN plus others give games a decent score (Pretty much required to with big titles) it doesn't mean the game is to everyone's taste. It's a perspective thing.

I've seen a hell of a lot more negative comments about Call of Duty in recent years than positive comments, throw it back to MW2 days and prior, it was the opposite. The series is in a downwards transition and Infinite Warfare is likely to be the tipping point from the series' recent run of not so good to poor games and value for money, to good games, great value for money.

Miss How are people supposed to get to play the campaign thirty days before then?

You can play the campaign on October 5th if you have pre-ordered any edition which includes MW Remastered. If you pre-ordered from a retail store you need to acquire access from them. If you purchased the game from PS store digitally you will be able to download the campaign starting this Wednesday.

Well they've already confirmed a separate release for CoD4 Remastered but it'll be after release. I don't know why anyone would bet against you.

I can't believe this comes as a surprise to anyone lol. If you want to play a disc you bought the disc has to be in. What would be the point if you could just sell it and keep the game lol none would buy it we could all just pass the copy around.
