More Than Half of Pokemon Go Players are Women, 80% Over 18 Years Old

4.5
It seems that the age-old stereotype that gamers are young teenage boys is slowly coming to an end. According to new data from Qualtrics, more than half of Pokemon Go players are women – about 51% of players in fact. As for ages, only 21% of Pokemon Go players are under 18. 22% of players are 18 to 24 years old, 24% of players are 25 to 34 years old, and 8% of players are over 65.

For a visual representation of the data, look at the chart below! Make sure to check for the “July” figures, as those are representative of the final launch.

BattleDemon How can they know the gender? So many men will choose the female character over the male and so many people under 18 never use their real birthday and will just put it to anything over 18.

That's very naive of you to assume thats how they did their research. I looked on their website and it says that this data was collected from 750 Pokemon go players from the 13th July to the 14th via surveys, which kinda makes this research rather redundant as it clearly doesn't represent the majority considering there is over 10million app downloads on the Android store alone.

This report does not mention the use or surveys or anything of the sample size, so I was not aware of that. It is a very inaccurate hypothesis if they even use a sample survey and to make that statement is imprecise.
