Wow im actually surprised to see courtious at the top , Hes a great keeper and made some amazing saves but i think for number 1 in the league its beetween de gea and courtious , Didnt think it would be so one sided (Though i think if Cech was still playing he would be number 1) , I think (Though i think courtious is awesome) i havent warmed to him as much probbally because of Cech and the others (Cesc and Costa doing so well).

One thing that annoys me though is that Cech never gets a mention anymore (Obviously going off stats for this season he wont be) but lets not forgot Cech was the best/most consistent keeper for the past 8+ years in the PL , He misses (20 Games or something this season so far) , Came in and kept a cleen sheet vs arsenal but never gets a mention , I know he is not playing but you dont just lose that ability overnight (Or in 20 games) i still think given the chance he would be number 1 over de gea easily , Though i also agree De gea is a brilliant GK and will devolop even further , A friend mentioned the other day that Cech (IMO) and his oppinion was head and shoulders (Mind the pun) above the other keepers in the PL , While Neur is the miles ahead in terms of world ranking but without Neur i think theres 4-5 keepers who can really devolop , But i dont think we will see a clear winner like the cech/neur circumstances , I think there all going to devolop and its going to be a messi-ronaldo debate over who is the best gk in the world (Apart from neur).

Though i would love to be proved wrong and have courtious taking Neurs (And cechs) places in terms of dominating there position.

Stats wise is all well and good but De Gea has let in 5 more goals than Courtois, and thats with the makeshift defence he has had infront of him, whereas Courtois has had the best defence in the league infront of him. I saw something before that really did intrigue me, De Gea and Courtois to be the next Buffon and Casillas. Hopefully both our clubs can keep them in the BPL.

De Gea is a good keeper in very good form but like you've acknowledged, I disagree with him being the best keeper in the league.

Football fans are distorted by the way he dramatises his saves. His reactions are incredible but that doesn't mean he's better at his job than others (e.g. Courtois - I'm a Chelsea fan, was always going to pull the Courtois card).

I think he's the closest competitor to Courtois at the moment but let me reverse @The_Red_Devils' argument for a moment. De Gea has a poor defence in front of him. Sure that means he has to deal with more but that also means he has more chances to 'show off'. It's the same reason keepers like David Marshall looked fantastic when Cardiff were in the top flight.

Also, it's ludicrous to suggest that just because Courtois has a good defence in front of him, he isn't as good as it appears. If that was the case, Neuer doesn't deserve to be in the final 3 shortlist for player of the year. If that's the case, do Ronaldo and Messi deserve the credit they get? After all, they play with fantastic players around them...

I respect all of your rights to an opinion but the logic behind it is largely flawed.

Routine performance today vs Spurs and that ominous record continues!

Costa got some time off, Zouma got some time on, Fabregas barely had to move a muscle and Hazard was brilliant again.

If Matic keeps playing the way he is, he'll go down as an even better defensive midfielder than Makelele

Also delighted with Oscar's performance.

Was kept on in the background as i was busy so couldn't watch it all unfortunately but i had no doubt over this result , Its almost too easy against Spurs , The other main rivals always cause a little problem (Other than arsenal maybe) and the "Lesser" teams are always a threat to us , If you said you need 3 PTS as a CFC fan , Who do you want to play i couldn't think of many better than spurs.

Just what we needed though , Another CS and a few goals to reassert dominance after sunderland , Though City are also keeping up there good form so could be a good few games coming.

Did i hear that Matic is out for the next game (Suspension?)

Haven't heard anyone say Matic will miss the next game but I think you're right - He's on 5 yellow cards this season and I think that's the amount needed for an automatic suspension. Should that be the case, we can probably (hopefully) still pull off a convincing performance against Newcastle without him (Just slot Mikel in his role)

City are keeping up but don't look incredibly convincing. If Aguero gets injured, their season is over. I am getting a little more anxious about City, especially after the points dropped at Sunderland but we're in control of our own destiny here and providing we beat them at the Bridge, we've got to be favourites

Thing is though , Aguero has been fit this season , He normally has a spell out and if you take out Augeros goals from their previous games they would be missing another 3-9 pts easy.

We played without costa yesterday and both our 2nd and 3rd choice STs scored ,Drogba has scored 2-3 goals and remy has scored in like 5 mins of gametime in the PL and also scored after coming on as a sub yesterday.

Also look at the defence , We have been alot better in defence than them ,I can see it getting tighter than it is now (I dont think we will stay 9+pts in front) but dont think we will lose it now.

You're speaking as if we've won the league already. We've played 14 matches....

Not talking like we have won it all , I think we will win it but i know its possible to lose it.

I just stated the reasons why i think Man city wont catch up , Im not speaking like we have won it but i think we will , As a team we are much better and Pelgrini isn't the greatest of managers...
