Looking at building my first pc, never touched one before as always had laptops so some help would be appreciated.
1. Setting a budget of around £700-800 without a GPU 2. Already have a keyboard and mouse. 3. Monitor will be a separate budget 4. Overclocking isnt priority currenlty Made a list to start with but any help as to whether its a good place to start ? https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/user/Haazz/saved/#view=zGckJx Cheers |

Why is the budget without a GPU- do you already have a GPU? If you do already have one, what GPU will you be using with the system? What is the monitor budget? What will the system be used for exactly?- What kinds of games will you be playing? Other than gaming, what will you be doing with the system? |

List should be open now Budget is without GPU as difficult to find a decent one atm, was looking at 1080 or 1080ti if I can find one somewhere. Would be using it for cod, wz, valorant, Csgo and a few other shooters, other than gaming I will be using the pc for general use. Monitor budget is possibly at around £100-£150 |

PCPartPicker Part List
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 3.6 GHz 6-Core Processor (£180.00 @ Currys PC World) Motherboard: MSI B450 TOMAHAWK MAX ATX AM4 Motherboard (£99.99 @ AWD-IT) Memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3600 CL18 Memory (£72.48 @ Amazon UK) Storage: Sabrent Rocket Q 1 TB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive (£108.97 @ Scan.co.uk) Storage: Toshiba P300 3 TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive (£66.99 @ AWD-IT) Case: Phanteks Eclipse P400A Digital ATX Mid Tower Case (£80.99 @ CCL Computers) Power Supply: Corsair TXM Gold 550 W 80+ Gold Certified Semi-modular ATX Power Supply (£69.21 @ CCL Computers) Total: £678.63 Changed the RAM. 3TB internal HDD instead of 2TB external, but either is fine- whatever works better for you. Dropped the CM Hyper 212- either just save the money and run stock cooler or get something better than a Hyper 212. Be Quiet! Dark Rock 4 is a decent mid range cooler(not the Pro version though, that won't fit in the P400A). Scythe have some great mid range coolers too. Saved some money on PSU, but if you want a fully modular unit, then the EVGA G3 is fine. Here are a few slightly cheaper alternatives though; uk.pcpartpicker.com/product/3H2bt...cus-gx-550 uk.pcpartpicker.com/product/CZvZx...50umag-7fm uk.pcpartpicker.com/product/bqVD4...9020177-na With the money saved here, I'd add that to your monitor budget. £150 will get you a cheap 1080p144Hz monitor, but add the £75-125 saved here and now you're looking at a 'budget' 1440p144Hz monitor; uk.pcpartpicker.com/product/qMyqq...-cq27g2ubk uk.pcpartpicker.com/product/KDmFf...r-q27g2ubk If you want something cheaper than 1440p144Hz though, then this is a decent 1080p144Hz option; uk.pcpartpicker.com/product/bT6qq...tor-px248p but it's still a little over £150. 1440p144Hz is well worth the extra IMO. As for GPU, if you're looking at GTX 1080/1080Ti's, you must be looking used, and those are £350+ on the used market now I'm sure? Not worth it IMO, you're better off just waiting for things to settle and try get yourself an RTX 3060 for MSRP. If you manage to get a really good deal on a used 1080Ti, then it might be worth it if you just want something asap, but I doubt you'll find any GPU's for a reasonable price right now- new or used. |
