So 3 months ago the CD player in my car breaks, I take it to the mechanic to have it fixed and they claimed taking it out completely was the fix. I send my car in 3 weeks ago for 2 new tires and an alignment and they break my window and charge me for it and claimed they didn't do it. My moms car goes in to have the heat fixed, it gets fixed and now it broke less than a week later. It got fixed today and they charged her for it again and now she's arguing with them. Who's wrong?

Sounds likes it's the mechanics fault. I would just stop going there, they dont sound like good people. This proves that some mechanics only want money

They might be in the wrong because some shady mechanics will charge you for stuff that doesn't even need to be fixed just to get a couple extra bucks off ya.

Yeah like everyone else stated, I would find a new mechanic.. and maybe talk to your mom about taking legal action if you really believe they caused the damage

Sounds like the mechanic is tampering with your car so you will come back and use there service again so they can make more money off of you.

That's a hard one. If they broke something, that's on them to fix and that's why they have shop insurance.

As far as the heat issue, this is where it gets difficult. They might see something is broken so they replace it, and everything works. Now there are other parts that can break, so if they break giving you the same issue then that's on you. If the part the mechanic put in breaks then it's on them. When you get something fixed on your car, make sure the paperwork says the exact part that was replaced and ALWAYS ask to see the broken piece. You will have to tell them when you drop the car off that you want to see the broken piece, otherwise it just goes in the garbage and they aren't going to go dumpster diving for you.
