Not sure if admins and mods see it the same, but I think it is spam. It contributes nothing to the giveaway. They are only there to say the one thing that this site has a system for. Would the majority bother if you couldn't get you post count up from it? I mean, I guess it bumps the topic, but I thought it was now within the rules that you can bump your own topics now. Maybe they changed it back, but it is just spam as far as I can tell.

This doesn't bother me as much for me to make a rant about it. If someone commented on a giveaway topic and said "I'm not entering but thanks for this giveaway" I know it''s classed as "spam" so I would blank off what he's or she has said because I know some member has reported that user as "spamming"... right?

..and the number ratio up-votes and down-votes on your profile doesn't mean crap well to me it doesn't. It's the fact people people agree with you what you've said. I wouldn't careless if I had more down-votes than up-votes I wouldn't care less to be honest. Why would you care about it? it's not like you get a badge for getting 1,000 up-votes or anything. It's when members abuse the system and down-vote every single post you make but that's a different story to tell.

For me, whether or not someone is a spammer comes down to personal opinion. If spam = useless posts then it is all down to what you consider useless. There's no concrete metric for what spam is, but I think most people would agree that the less words in a post, the more likely it is to be spam.
It is very rare that you see someone post an essay which is not related to the topic and can be considered spam. It is extremely often, however, that you see someone post four words with no relation to the topic which can be considered spam. So word count in a post is, to me, the only reasonable metric for working out who is more likely to be a spammer. So that's what I looked at. I looked at both of your past 16 posts - from when you made the post I am replying to - and counted the number of words.



XeGlitch posts, on average, 7 words per post.
HxH posts, on average, 19 words per post.

Notably short ones for XeGlitch include: "Xbox 360" "Who is that person?" "Hahahahahahahaha XD is he on TTG?" "MW2" and my personal favorite, "Your videos are shit. End of."
I could only find one truly 'short' one for HxH, which just so happens to be the one that he was attacked for by Mitochondria, "i'll enter thanks."

However, just to put this trivial difference into perspective...

I consider myself quite an average TTG poster. I don't post essays, but I don't tend to post less than two sentences either which - I think - is how the majority of people on this website post.
So I looked at my past 16 posts too.

Adding the most recent 2 of my past 16 posts together came to around 174 words. The entirety of XeGlitch's past 16 posts added together came to around 115 words.
3 of my most recent posts came to around 350 words. The entirety of HxH's past 16 posts came to 317 words.
All 16 of my most recent posts equal 1717 words in total, which is around 107 words per post, compared to XeGlitch's 7 and HxH's 19.

The truth is, depending on what metric you choose, you could both be considered spammers.
Personally I wouldn't call either of you spammers, but that's the point, you don't call people spammers on the forums... you report them and let the mods decide.

As for people posting on gold giveaways to say thanks but not enter, I would consider that spam, and I think the staff probably do too.

1. The quote you took was from a giveaway. If I am correct there is nothing wrong with that post,nor do I need to make it any more detailed than it actually is. In fact it would still be a valid post even if it was one word, due to the fact that it is a giveaway. I am not helping anyone with information nor am I hating on anyway I am entering a giveaway.

2. I find it pretty funny how you go to my profile and pick out one post that is short and call it proof towards the points you made. 3. This rant has nothing to do with what all the posts are about and has changed from what I wanted it to be,therefore making all this pointless.
