Can I just ask how does this affect you at all?
People may do it because it's a useful point or so?
Along with why people up vote other members replies? It's not just towards staff. The reason staff may get more up votes is because of the position their in with the knowledge they have. They are not staff for fun, they know what their doing so if they make a very good point a lot of people will up vote it because it's useful.

The up votes act as food stamps for us, if we get a certain amount within a week Sean will give us treats! Once I got 20+ up votes and he gave me a left over gravy pot to go with the scraps of KFC bones.
