I know we are getting close and I hope the Oculus Rift does not fail or Google's and Sony's. I really want this to be a big thing so big that it'll be a common necessity like a cell phone or a laptop. Do you think we will be able to experience V.R in our life time?

I would say so, although it will not the kind that you would see in movies of course.

Am I the only one who thinks this is sad? That people want virtual reality to become as big as Laptops and Mobile Phones :/
Why would you want to walk around in a virtual reality when you have a real world to explore in reality (Yes I am aware traveling costs money but you get my point)

We already have VR.
I personally tried VR years ago when I was a kid in Sega World (London)
As primitive as it was, it was definitely an experience.
To have it common place in our lives would ruin everything.
People would simply hide from their lives inside a box.
It always brings me back to Lawnmower Man.
Be happy with your life as it is. Dont look for tech to improve/hide it.

Yeh like u said VR alreacy exists it just isnt public. I study computing at college and for the most part only big companies have it like microsoft and google. Im not going to go into detail but you can research it if you like

I'm perfectly happy with my life I would never get so into something it would isolate me. Also what I wish would happen is we could go into virtual reality while we sleep and being in it until we wake up, now that would so cool. If you seen Dot Hack you'll get the idea of what I wish we had already.
