So, seeing as though the current Robin Williams situation has come across and it is printed all over the world and tons of YouTube videos are being watched and uploaded of him, but people cry for one person and mourn him but no one cares that hundreds if not thousand of kids die everyday in Africa of a slow and painful death. It really pisses me off and I don't know these peoples mentalities. What is wrong with people.

I don't know any of those kids in Africa so how could I possibly be upset about them?

I grew up watching his films, I have memories of watching his films with family members who are no longer around.

Kids in Africa have had no impact on my life.
Do you want us to live in constant mourning for people who have had no effect on our life?

They have adverts running constantly
They have people in the streets constantly
They have people going out there to help constantly
We are told about how much worse off they are constantly

So excuse me if I am more saddened by the death of someone I truly admired.

Every one of those deaths are sad, but we only know Robin Williams. We don't know all of those kids in Africa. Robin Williams touched the hearts of many, many people. People take a death like that personally. We can just relate to him more since we do know about him. All deaths are sad to me, but the feeling is stronger the more I know them. Just as your family members. Usually, those are the people that you cry and care for the most when they pass. It's basically the same thing.

So you would feel worse for a single man who made you laugh a few times dieing that innocent children who didn't ask to be in their situation starve or die from parasites and drink form water with their own shit than someone who took their own life by their own choice.

Yeah pretty much.

Enough money is pumped into that country each year and they just rely on the help of other nations.

I don't believe this is a fair argument, because we care about those who have influenced us or who care about us.

Would you feel worse about your mom dying than a bunch of kids in Africa dying? And, would you feel worse about a role model dying than a bunch of kids in Africa?

Robin Williams was a role model to many, and for many, he made them laugh and had a positive impact on their lives through his movies. While kids in Africa don't.

For me, Robin Williams' death has been a quick, but deep, stab to my emotions.
Whereas the deaths of less fortunate people and senseless violence which is prevalent throughout the world persists in the back of my mind as a dull ache that will stay there for my entire life.

I think it evens out.

LOL, Africa isn't a country lmao. Africa is a continent. Have you ever been to school? Robin Williams killed himself, African kids have some of the worse lives imaginable. I don't feel sad about something that takes their own life, that is their choice.
