I agree if they beat Portugal and Ghana comes out strong and maybe beats Germany that'd be perfect as long as we make it out of group play it's all that matters.

We don't need Germany to lose. Realistically we want them to curbstomp everyone, secure their position in the knockout rounds and then field a weaker team vs. USA.

Right now, all we really need to do is tie with Portugal and we can squeak through on goal difference. (Assuming Portugal doesn't recover from being 0-4 and Ghana doesn't win much).

After that, we have win-able rounds. If we get out in second place, then we face whoever comes in first in Group H. Which is likely to be Belgium. IF-IF-IF-IF we can beat Belgium, then we go into Quarter Finals against Argentina more than likely.

Being realistic Portugal will go through. Also USA where pretty lucky against Ghana. Ghana were the better team they were more creative just some of the players had poor decision making.

The US team is going to take the cup!

I think people are underestimating Ghana, they've got a really good team. They constantly applied pressure and won the possession battle. Our defense was tremendous, offense needs some work but we made a lot of terrible mistakes and had a lot of injuries. Hopefully the injuries are nothing serious, can't wait for the next game against Portugal!

We only need a tie to go through on goal difference.

Not if Portugal win both matches which they will probably they don't need Pepe they other good defenders Coentrao's injury might be a problem but they still have Mouthinho, Nani, and obviously Ronaldo.

I dont think there is any way US can go through really. Germany will easily win their remaining games and Portugal are just too strong for Ghana/USA

We don't need to.

USA loses their next two games 1-0. Germany beats Ghana by 2. Ghana beats Portugal 1-0.
USA advances.

USA ties with Portugal / Germany. Ghana loses to Portugal or Germany.
USA advances.

You have your own problems to be taking care of, Englishmen. I believe there's a man named Suarez and a CONCACAF team that shouldn't be taken lightly knocking at your door.

A man who has a reputation for not delivering in big games who hasn't played in 5 weeks who isn't going to be fully fit with a squad that has a defence even worse than ours.
