Note *I take no credit in the find of this glitch. But it's been proven to work oddly.

Text Tutorial

1. Open box.
2. As your opening the box, jump and shoot 1 time.
3. Do a 360, then jump and shoot 1 time again.
You need to have Pistol OUT!

And then you should get the ray gun or thundergun 95% of the time. Here's a video ;)

Note, this is very coincidental. There are chances of you not getting it, keep that in mind before you flame post and say it didn't work.

If it didn't work for you... try again.
