Looking to upgrade my cpu and my mobo,

Current cpu is ryzen 5 1600, and my mobo is asus prime b350 plus,

I would like a CPU, motherboard and a cpu cooler, for around 500GBP.

My current GPU is Asus Strix 1080ti, 16GB RAM and a 600W PSU.

Any other info just ask.

Thanks guys.

Make and model of case?
Make and model of PSU?
What are the rest of your specs, including storage, monitor, RAM(speed? 4x4GB, 2x8GB?), and CPU cooler?
Why do you want to upgrade to an entirely new socket?
What are you looking to achieve with an upgrade exactly?
What do you use the system for?
Will you overclock?

Case is the NZXT s340
PSU is evga super nova 650
Storage 1x 240 adata ssd and 1x seagate barracuda 1tb
RAM is corsair vengeance 2x8gb
Cpu cooler is stock ryzen cooler
I want a cpu to get a good overclock out of, and I don't mind upgrading my motherboard to allow this.
I use the system to game, record and edit videos.

So what is the R5 1600 not doing that you expect/want it to? It should be more than adequate for your needs and there's no reason to spend £500 on an upgrade IMO, unless the R5 1600 is hindering you in some way.

What monitor are you using?

I will also add to the questions -

Have you tried overclocking
What do you want to achieve by overclocking

I have overclocked the 1600 as far as I can go with the stock cooler, I bought it last year and went for the cheaper CPU to get the 1080ti. My monitor is an asus 4k monitor I can't remember the model. I just don't really want the 1600 to start bottlenecking my 1080ti.

Unless you're seeing bottlenecking, I wouldn't worry. It's super hard to bottleneck on that CPU anyway, and since you've overlocked it, then you really shouldn't' have any issues at all.

I'd say, download [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] , play your games, keep an eye on your CPU usage.

What speed overclock are you running? I have the 1600x @ 4.0Ghz and i've had no signs of bottlenecking and I too run at 4k.

I can't remember what speed it's running and I'm not in the house to check. I'm pretty sure it was 3.7gz or something similar. I couldn't get 4 with the stock cooler. What cooler you using? I'll maybe pick up a cooler instead and try pushing the OC further. I haven't really noticed any bottlenecking I just like to be prepared lol

At the absolute most, you could swap out the R5 1600 for an R7 1700, but that's not going to help in games. It doesn't make sense to invest in a whole new socket, especially since the R5 1600 will not bottleneck a 1080Ti at 4k.

Just upgrade from stock cooler and see if you can get a better overclock from the R5 1600. I'd probably grab a Be Quiet Dark Rock Pro 3 or NZXT Kraken X62. Any other 280mm AIO would do fine as well, so like a Corsair H110i/H115i or EVGA CLC 280 if you want an AIO but dont want to spend so much for the X62.
