Yeah, my last few games have gone on to 30-40 at least. Does having blue eyes affect anything?

when you go up ranks it s gonna get harder to level up, blue eyes being the final rank until 'prestige' most probably requires higher rounds to proceed on (at least this is what i experienced)

Blue eyes is the last level of the rank you're in, so if you're Blue eyes knife through skull, next is shotguns, no blue eyes with 1 round on the badge.

I was just wondering, since I'm the skull with knife with 4 marks, but I haven't got blue eyes.

it isnt patched but its blocked in grief by the pack-a-punch machine but its great for solo

The blue Eyes have nothing to do with the system the tallies and the blue eyes just represent how long you play, you get a new tally for every day you play in a row so on day 1 you get one tally and then 24 hours later you play you get the 2nd tally etc. the recommended Kills/Down for Shotgun Rank is 150-200+ and other stuff factors in such as getting high rounds ad beating them, the amount of miles run etc etc.

Everyone's getting the ranking system all wrong. It has absolutely nothing to do with KD or Blue eyes.

Treyarch designed the ranking system to combat cheaters.
It's your average round / average downs, you can't calculate that via your leader board.

I'm shotguns and have been for awhile and my KD isn't the best. But every single game Im hitting 30-40 at least. You need to make sure that every game you play you're getting to 25 + this will up your average rounds.

Back when the game first came out there was the transit round skip glitch. You could get to 70+ without any kills. People did that 4-5 times and got shotguns with hardly any kills on there leader board. that's because their average round was high enough.
