Hey guys,

I broke my laptop a few weeks ago and now I need to buy a new one but I'm not sure what to get. I won't be gaming or anything, just need it for generally day to day stuff, would really appreciate any advice

It would be more helpful if you included some important details like budget, what you plan to use it for, etc.

To add on to this

What size are you looking for? Bigger the laptop higher the price usually lesser the performance. Smaller you can get a decent compact system. IF you're looking into gaming laptops 700-800 USD/GBP. you can get a decen't budget worker laptop, with performance drop for $200-400.
Any preferred colors?

I have a gaming custom desktop build for every advanced task, and wanted just a simple laptop to write papers, or just stream stuff on. I was originally going to get a mid grade dell laptop, but it was going to end up costing me around $500. I ended up getting a $220 Acer chromebook and am so glad that I did. It is around 3 lb or so, full HD, and a 14in. It does everything perfectly, has a great feeling touchpad and pretty decent keyboard, and even looks pretty professional. If you are just going to be rousing the web and stuff like I am, then I wouldn't suggest getting anything else it's perfect for the need.
