The news comments on here kinda annoy me, not that it's of importance of course, it's just the majority of people seem to comment just to bump post count (if it even does that) rather than what I've seen on other sites where people properly reflect on the news story, talk about it in detail and discuss it etc.

All I ever see is
'Cool won't be getting this'
'Cool will get this'
'I don't game so I won't play this'
'This is nice'
Or something along those lines
Does it bug anyone else or is it just me?:|

I dont want to say it annoys me but yeah it erks me a bit, I feel like 95% of the people who just shitpost "cool thanks" didnt even read the actual article. Sometimes I make comments actually wanting a discussion but never actually get one because the news page is just the "shitpost section" basically.

Side note I dont think news comments count towards post number, I may be wrong but I didnt think they did.


News, Video, Downloads, Tutorials all count to your post count.

They have a report button for a reason. If they are spamming comments, report them for spam.

Interesting topic here, yeah I can relate to this in the sense I do see people "shit post" I was thinking about this and people would agree with me on this one. If the News Section didn't have the feature that if you post it counts as a post. I think people won't shit post, right? Do you get what I mean by this or is it just me? lol You can't stop this WHOLE thing unless you report the article reply as "spam" or if you was a staff member you would delete the message yourself. This "shit post" thing is not going to stop. It's like a disease it gets worse and worse.

I'm going to take a shot in the dark and say that a large percentage of the 'shitposters' are posting in the news section to achieve the badge. Would I be wrong in saying that?

If badges didn't exist and there was nothing to work for, it would pretty much be good discussions most of the time, like it should be.
