i7-6700K cause it's a decent CPU and you can overclock.
X61 is a decent cooler that will allow you overclock quite well.
General ram, storage usage
GTX 1070 is a good GPU that will perform well at 1440p (the monitor is 1440p)
Motherboard and PSU allow for expansion if/when you want to add a second 1070.
Phanteks Enthoo Evolv is a really nice case and I selected the glass version cause it's nicer. You can swap back to acrylic window for $20 less.
Mouse and keyboard are a decent combo. Those are both more to user preference (i.e. switch type, RGB or not, etc.)
Any questions just reply or wait for Sancty to sort you out

Similar idea to Deano's suggestion. Better peipherals though. 1440p TN 60Hz is a low end monitor for this budget IMO. 4k IPS is much better suited. A good alternative would be 3440x1440 ultrawide IPS, or 1440p IPS 144Hz. K70 is unbeatable. It's pricey, but well worth it if you can afford it. Alternative keyboard would be Cooler Master MasterKeys Pro L RGB. However, the K70's build quality is undeniably superior. Mouse is up to you really, G502 is a good mouse but so is the M65 PRO, and it's well priced, hence why I suggested it.
i7 because it's easily obtainable within budget. 6600k would be a perfectly fine alternative, it's the same chip just without hyper threading. No need to pay more than $60-$65 for 16GB RAM. 850-EVO is a great SSD, I love mine. However, it's over-priced IMO. The SP550 is $50 less. Sure, the 850-EVO is faster/better, but not significantly. 850-EVOs are only worth it if they're $15-$30 less IMO. X61 is a killer CPU cooler, I love mine. However, the H5 is unbeatable for price:performance. It rivals the D15 in terms of cooling, but performs more quietly. Its less than half the price of the X61 and will perform pretty damn close to it. Cheaper motherboard, but you still have SLI support, so you can easily add a 2nd GTX 1070 at any point. $100-$125 motherboards are more than fine for the vast majority of consumers. Better PSU. The EVGA GQ series is good, and well priced. However, the G2 units from EVGA are absolutely fantastic if you can pay the premium(which is only $15-$20 or so usually). The 650W variant would be enough for your system with SLI GTX 1070s, so if you want to save some money, you can get the EVGA 650W G2/GS/GQ instead. Just don't get an EVGA NEX(G1) PSU, they're horrific units. Enthoo EVOLV ATX is a great case, my absolute favourite, but it's pricey. The Enthoo Pro is well priced and still a fantastic case. I'd absolutely spend the $100 premium for the Enthoo EVOLV ATX, but not if it meant sacrificing components elsewhere, hence my recommendation of the Enthoo Pro.
