The cringe in this whole topic is insane.

Do you think the FBI just let's people fill out applications and whatnot?

To be a so called " Cyber Hacker " you've got to be literally one of the best, and judging by the way you type you are far from being an actual "hacker".

To be fair the FBI as well as the CIA and other government organizations hire plenty of people from applications. Not all hires for government organizations are elite blackhat hackers.

That is true but I'm pretty sure the stone cold truth is some kid from TTG isn't gonna be a hacker for the CIA / FBI.

The guy can't even type correctly let alone be an average hacker.

You're gonna look into something you're not interested in is what you're saying?

Didn't you say earlier it would be cool to "stop potential terrorist attacks?"

Quite the contradiction.

Interesting potential Career choice. I live in the UK so i'm unsure exactly how US Police Departments work but do they all/most have a Cyber Crimes Unit of any sort? Like say LA for example, does the LAPD have a Cyber Crime Unit?

Assuming they do then i'd look at a job with them first so you wouldn't be a completely unknown civilian applying for a FBI level job, not that they wouldn't accept the application but it'd certainly speed up any process and they'd have some solid references from the department you could work for.

It's good to be ambitious but perhaps starting on a smaller scale would be a good option as it'd be priceless experience and you'd have the trust of people behind the badge already if and when you came to applying with the FBI.

Great points in here.

Cyber crime units are what I have heard them referenced as.

Firstly you will need a minimal criminal record; a degree/ equivalent in one of few subjects that orbit around the job role; experience in roles similar to the one you described (best off starting to work for NGO's).
