Get a numbing cream called EMLA cream, works great for painful areas.

I doubt most of the people on here have any tattoos. If they did they would no you should never take pain killers before a tattoo. It make the ink a lot harder to stay in your skin. Therefore the artist will have to go over the tattoo multiple times. You will also have more issues with the tattoo fading worse than if you just got one normally. Her is my tip just watch the tattoo as its getting done and keep breathing. Do not hold you breath of it gets painful because you will pass out

Thinking about pain that you shouldn't do because you set your brain to worry what is about to happen in your case to finish off your tattoo. The best thing is not to do is don't think about it (I know people cant just click off it and not worry about what's happening) Get a stress ball and squeeze as hard as you can maybe that will help? God knows...

Idk if all tattoo places do it, but the shops in my area use that blue stick of icy hot deodorant on your skin where you're getting the tattoo, like before they begin doing it, to make the process easier for those with low pain tolerance. So you could find some of that to use afterwards too, or just get regular icy hot and apply when needed afterwards.

You may be thinking icy hot on your skin will make it go in your skin while you're getting the tattoo, but it's designed to absorb into your skin anyway, it doesn't alter your body in any way, nor does it mess with the tattoo during the process, or after.

I took my phone and played some games, had my ear phones in and watched some youtube videos! Through the whole 4 and a half hours the only time it was really painful was right on the bone. Good luck finishing your tattoo! Make sure to get yourself a massive breakfast before it ;) Just remember it will hurt more if you think and focus on it. so just keep yourself distracted.
