i have got a 57 Vauxhall Corsa

When you say 57, I'm guessing you mean it's on a 57 plate?

In all honesty, the so called "premium" is just for them to increase sales. Like other people have stated the only time higher octane fuel makes a difference is when a cars ECU is tuned to run a higher octane.

Granted some premium fuels will help clean / flush your car out which in turn may cause it to run a little better, but not noticeable enough to justify the price increase with the likes of Shell V-Power etc.

Trust me, you're feeling the tune and not the gas. The tunes mess with a lot of things like timing and so on. Run that 93 tune with 87 gas. People will say it's bad but I would be willing to put my truck on the line and say it won't have a difference.

You will only feel a difference with a tune, I have a 93 octane tune for my 14 Mustang GT, and the higher the octane the faster the gas burns, which you will feel a difference. Without a tune you will feel nothing at all.

Well no actually the fuel adds to it. On my car the tune is specifically optimal with 91 octane. It adjusts the air/fuel ratio for 91 vs 87 since they burn completely differently. Without the tune the only difference is going to be a cleaner engine. 87 is junk where I live. Nasty and filled with junk at several pumps around here.

Yes you can rune 87 gas with a 93 tune, but you will quickly destroy your engine(atleast if your going to be pushing the vehicle to its limits) You can run 93 in a 87 tune, but not the other way around. When you get your vehicle tuned to a certain fuel, then the tuner changes the way the vehicle works and makes it run to that fuel, you should stick with the fuel that your vehicle is supposed to use. How do you have a cleaner engine when you run higher octane gas?

When i was taking a auto tech class, the instructor told us that there is there is no difference between normal and premium unleaded. He said if you really want to feel a difference, get supreme he said , but premium and normal unleaded, are basically the same thing.

That is very wrong. Your instructor had taught you wrong on this particular subject, if you google this subject, then you will learn that there is a difference.

Half-Blood-Prince wrote What are the differences between normal Unleaded and Premium Unleaded

Premium unleaded is usually at a higher octane than normal unleaded. For example premium could be 91 and normal would be 87. The higher then octane then the quicker that the fuel will burn. This is especially good for racing. But the gas alone won't really make a difference, if you get the car or motorcycle tuned for that specific fuel then you will see a change. For example 110 is 110 octane and C-16 is 117 octane. You could have simply googled this, there was no need for a post. Here is what google had to say about this... "This is the same as saying your engine is designed to perform its best with a specific octane rating of gasoline. A "high-performance engine" has a higher compression ratio and requires higher-octane fuel to prevent it from prematurely igniting fuel before the spark plug does it."
if everyone googled everything instead of posting here then Ttg would really be dead but thanks for the answer anyway

Not true. TTG is not just for questions. Sometimes you have a very difficult problem and can't find the answer on google. But I like to think of TTG more of a social media type of thing. You post anything and get peoples opinions on things. For example, if you look at the Vehicle Discussion forum then you will see people post pictures of their cars and ask to see what people think. Or sometimes people ask to see what is the best vehicle to get(The reason i include this is, because there is no answer, the best vehicle is just an opinion).
