I was wondering if there was a way to transfer my progress from xbox 360 and xbox one and of so how do I do it??

I thought all you had to do was sign up to call of duty in the game on your Xbox 360 and it updated your stats to Xbox one

Q. Will my progress, stats, and gear carry over when I download and play the next-gen version?
A. Yes, whether you participate in this program or not, all of your Multiplayer stats and gear are shared within a console family (Xbox 360 <-> Xbox One or PS3 <-> PS4) and will be waiting for you when you transition to next-gen.
