Right so i was looking to upgrade my pc. Preformance is fine right now but the mobo i feel is restricting upgradability plus my cpu fan is huge and i cant put it in right (it blows air onto my gpu giving higher temps) i need suggestions max price: 150gbp for mobo.
I was goia get another 8gb of ram aswell

Personally I'd go with this one. [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
I have a similar mb to this one. BIOS is great, it's sli ready and has 6 sata ports.

Also it's decently priced compared to similar boards in that price range.

This should set you on your way for another 970 if you choose to go with that.

Edit: Also just realized it will match your keyboard and rest of your build.

I'd be getting that instead. As for your cooler, mount it the other way. The fans should not be facing down towards your GPU.

Your processor cooler may not fit the correct way because of how far it sticks out on the sides and the fan clips may contact the PCB on the card itself. You can simply move the graphics card down into a lower slot if your board has more than one PCIe x16 slot.

They look like a normal distance away from the socket, is the tower the thing hitting the RAM sticks or is it the fan?

You don't really need a new motherboard, the only reason I would see upgrading being worthy is if you wanted something like SLI support or newer features that you get on newer socket boards. The only motherboard upgrade I would get is with something like a Skylake or Haswell-E CPU, but you don't need anything like that for gaming.
