What happened to your mom buying you a case?

An i3 would be better for gaming but like they stated above the AMD chip would be better for rendering/editing.

I would still go with the i3 because of the upgrade path rather than having to buy a new mobo and CPU if you wanna upgrade.

When editing and rendering a dual core simply won't cut it. PLus for gaming the 8320 would be better than an i3 as while all current i5's are pinned at 99% on GTA V my 6300 is at 65/70% tops.

That's because GTA V has terrible optimization which everyone seems to forget.

OP:

Benchmarks if your interested in gaming.

It's up to you. We're telling you to make your decision based on the pro's and con's.

Let's make it simple;

i3
Pro's

Faster single core performance
better/easier upgrade path
Newer/better architecture

Con's
Less cores/threads
Some newer AAA titles will refuse to launch with a dual core

8320E
Pro's
More cores
Better for multi-threaded work
Will actually work on games that require a minimum of 4 cores to boot

Con's
Worse single core performance, so will lose in gaming to the i3
No upgrades without a new mobo, and at this point, probably RAM too.

With an AM3+ chip, you're pretty much definitely going to be OC'ing it at some point, and with a decent mobo/decent cooler, you should easily get that 8320E to 4.5GHz+. It still won't match the i3 in gaming, but in CS:GO, it's not even going to matter, at all, and the 8320E will hands down, give you better performance for right now at editing/rendering. However, the i3 leaves room to upgrade to an i5/i7/Xeon, which is going to be a lot better than an 8320E. The only real reason to take the i3 really, is if you're looking for the easier upgradability.

The i3 has 4 threads though. Sure, the 8320E is going to be better, that doesn't mean the i3 is bad though.

Ok so If I have an i3 I will beable to play games only like CS:GO and I will not beable to Stream at the same time and if so my CPU will Struggle?
But if I get an 8320E I will still beable to play CS:GO and other games and stream at the same time and have great performance?
And which one would be good for basic editing?
And also will I beable to upgrade both CPUs later?

No, the i3 will be better in gaming. You'll be able to stream with an i3 perfectly fine, and it will handle editing/rendering fine. The 8320E, however, would be better at streaming/editing/rendering. Newer games, like CoD AW and FC4, for example, require at least 4 cores to launch, so won't launch with an i3, unless you use some sort of work around. The fact that the i3 is better at gaming, is irrelevant if you're only playing CS:GO, since CS:GO is not a demanding game anyway, you'll be easily maxing it out, regardless which rig you get. The only reason to get the i3 rig, is if you want an easier CPU upgrade in the future, to an i5/i7/Xeon. Yes, you can upgrade either rig, but if you want to upgrade from that 8320E, you should be going with an i5 at least, which means you'll need a new motherboard, and most likely new RAM too. With the i3 rig, all you'd have to do is swap out the i3 for an i5/i7/Xeon. No new motherboard/RAM needed.

How much Over would it be? I am willing to spend $400 MAX!
So please let me know because I could go to $400 if Needed.
Also do you know any Black Matte Case? I was looking at the NZXT S340 Black, I will be having my mom buy this for me for christmas if you recommend it.

Nevermind I have put the NZXT S340 as my Case and I put in a $22 Gaming Keyboard and mouse in!
But how do I choose what Operating System to get?
Id also Like it to be 64 Bit.

Man just get Windows. Why would you pick any other OS though?
