I do wish the red curve matched the stroke of the font just to make it more fluid...

Out of all of these. I only like the top left one.
It is very simple and would be easy to brand.

And the final outcome which the client was very happy with wouldn't be easy to brand??

I personally think (apart from you being full of shit) the top left one is very basic and stereotypical in a political way. Something you may find on a "vote for me" poster lol.

What Illy brought to the table and sold is top notch, apart from a few hiccups but if the client is happy then it's all good.

Simplistic and basic isn't always the best route to take.

Good day sir and well done Illy.

If you are a politician you are going to want your logo everywhere.
so when making print media,
ex. (brosures, stickers, apparel, signs, ect.)
it is a lot cheaper to use 2 colors than to use a gradient or 5-6 colors.

also
people in the real world don't really care how simple or complex a logo is,
as long as they like what the logo represents.

The first set would be a lot easier to brand because of the design, colors, etc.

The final logo is more of a candidates official symbol than a branding.

There is no gradient on the final one.
And there's only 2 colors (3 if you're counting white).

The last one is by far the best concept out them all.

Extremely well put together.

Would probably catch the eye of many politicians.

You make me face palm so hard, did you even read the original post?
The whole first set was an initial concept that was not used at all.
The secondary versions with all the effects could be used for wherever they could be applied on digital things.
The primary version would obviously be the simple 2 color version, to be used for print and general branding.
But they doesn't even matter because it's not the final version, as I've stated more than once.
