So i am applying for a job at UPS and on the application they asked why are you applying for this position, and i am going to put "I am looking to get experience in warehouse work" but it would be kind of embarrassing if this wasnt considered warehouse work. I would be a package handler

My recommendation is to expand on that statement (at least 3-4 sentences) and make it more broad to cover everything they're looking for

What position are you applying for? You might say something like you are looking to get more experience in the packing / shipping industry or something along those lines.

Yeah for the most part I'm pretty sure that's warehouse work.

Best thing i have found to put in those sections is the following:

I am applying to this position to further my self as an individual and broaden my knowledge of a field I am interested in, while helping your company advance with my hard work ethic, timeliness, and commitment. I feel that I not only bring an essential pallet of skills to this position but also room to learn and experience new work ethics and standards.

EDIT:

I also look for answers similar to what I just put when hiring people. An easy way to decide on if what your putting is good or not is to fill in all the space given. If you are short and blunt odds are companies think you are not interested in that particular position. Whether its a summer job or your career choice you want to make it seem like this is the only position you have applied for and you are very interested in it. Also, to answer your question.. yes it is considered line/warehouse work. Considering you will be pulling packages off of a conveyor belt and grouping them for your drivers.

Pretty sure it counts as warehouse work so I don't think you should worry

But like others have said, you should have expanded a bit
