I'm currently a freshmen in college and I have come to the conclusion college is a joke. Here I am paying for an algebra class that I'm never going to use. The kid sitting next to me wants to become a cop yet he has to take to an algebra class. I can not wrap my head around that at all. It's all one big money making scheme. Why can't it be geared directly for your career path?

It all depends..

For instance, I am pursuing my career in live streaming, I don`t personally need college. but for the majority of jobs? College is very helpful nor mind what you think.

Well i personally want to be a programmer / web designer, unless my ebay shop takes off of course.

Have to do many silly things within the courses that are insanely easy but they are necessary to pass the end course.

I myself am studying HND Computer Science. We get to make a small JAVA game as an assessment, learn how to make responsive web sites with HTML 5 and Jquerey.

so for me specifically, it matters.

I'm just glad i got through the first two courses when i had to make a day in the life video... oh and working with a team...

Just like grade school, you have to take some core classes for part of college.

I wouldn't say it's necessary, but very important. People decide to have a career on twitch or something, and don't go to college. Then when it gets weird doing live streaming at 35, so they have to work at McDonald's. All depends on how much your value your future.

In this world, college is always a good thing to have! gives you a step forward but at the same time you can be successful without it!

It all depends on what you want to do with your career, some jobs require a degree and that is something you need to look into.

Then there is me, no degree. Heck not even a semester of college and I'm 3 months from making 75 grand a year driving for UPS.

It's because you're going to a four year school for a bachelors. A bachelors consists of 2 years of general education and 2 years of major courses

If you don't want to take them go to trade school and get your associates.

Obviously you're 12 if you're asking this.
