I just put together the PC I'm building yesterday. When I went to turn it on, the motherboard started beeping like all hell. I looked online and found out it's a ram compatibility issue. I went to Micro Center to buy compatible ram, and the one an employee choose was not on the compatibility list, but he assured me it would work. It didn't. I just got back from there after exchanging it for AMD brand ram. I've now tried three brands of ram In every configuration, and it beeps everytime I turn the computer on. The motherboard is a Gigabyte ga-f2a78m-d3h. I don't have any clue as to what to do. What's wrong and how do I fix it?

EDIT: just to be clear, the beeps are short and continuous.

Whats your build parts list?

If you can, match up your beep codes with [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

That board is using an AWARD BIOS. From the beep codes that Xiggy linked, it looks to be a RAM or CPU issue. Reseat the RAM one stick at a time and see if it boots, also make sure that you installed your CPU cooler correctly, if you could upload pictures then that would help. A complete part list would also be useful.

I talked to several friends and concluded the RAM inputs were defected, so I sent the mobo back for a refund and bought a new one.
