Still, like anything can help. Was it older or a newer show? If it aired sometime from 2012 I prob have watched it or have heard of it. I haven't seen that many older shows, but I prob will remember it if it sound familiar.

I think it was a harem and that the person trying to stop him was the only one who knew that they were "saving" the mc.

Now since you said it was a Harem, hehe, I'm pretty good with harem shows. Even the smallest detail that you can try to remember can help so just list everything that comes to mind about the show.

Wow. Death Note first comes into my mind. And it fit exactly your description. Death Note's Live Action Movies and TV Drama Series are also nice to watch. Or wait for the upcoming Death Note, The Six Note Rule, Live Action Movie this 2016.
