There isn't that many programs, I dont why you're asking. It all depends on what you are looking to do. If you want to do avatars and signatures or manipulations, stick with Photoshop. If you want to do work that involves vectors use, go for Adobe illustrator

Photoshop is good, I use it a lot. Can be used both for fun and for professional clean work. All depends on your knowledge of the program itself.

Actually there are bunches of them but there are more professional ones that people use. All I was asking is for people to reply with what they are using. Most GFX work can be done on any GFX program, but I was just wanting to know what people on here use.

The reason he said it's best to use Illustrator for cleaner (better) work is most likely because he is good at it. I'm not biased so I would agree with you and say many programs can create similar outcomes depending on your skills and knowledge.

I just know Photoshop well enough so I am comfortable using it

Cracked. I am a student, I'm not rich and can't afford £600 for a program.

I use:
Adobe Suite, (including Photoshop, for general graphics use and Illustrator for vector designs).
Cinema4D, this is what I use to do all my modelling and animations in.
I'll use Sony Vegas and/or Adobe Premiere for editing if I need to
