Hey guys I am in a odd situation here. So for months now I have been using the Win 10 beta on my computer because when I got the computer I was too broke to buy a OS. One of my friends recently upgraded his computer and he said that I could take the OS off that computer.

Here is the problem. I don't know how to do that... Anyone know how?

Thanks and sorry to ask but google was giving me results from the age of Visa.

You won't be able to take your friends copy, since the license will only work on his computer.

I have read some stuff about cloning a hard drive. Wouldn't that work?

That won't work, your 2 computers are different and cloning the computer will have tremendous problems of you put it onto yours

If you are still having a issue with this i strongly suggest you use a 4 gb+ flashdrive, download a pirated copy of windows (I can't link you so don't ask) Then download Rufus Bootable USB Creator and then copy the iso to your flashdrive using that. If you can't do that because you dont have access to a pc then you will have to buy a windows installation disc and install it onto your pc from there.

If you already had the beta, you could have upgraded to the full version of windows 10, but stayed a beta user. Like you would get newer features earlier etc.

I think he meant the preview version. Anyways just so that you know and i'm not trying to be rude to you but preview users aren't able to upgrade for free and their OS will become unbootable after a certain amount of days. That's why OP is trying to switch if i understand correctly. But what OP didn't realize is that with the Windows 10 Previews you are actually able to downgrade to your previous OS with a setting inside Windows 10 Preview haha.

I think I read somewhere you can update to the latest build which is the RTM (Retail) version.
