Its a nice car and the clutch will be perfect on it, so stalling will be pretty hard, even as a new driver.

His parents could be helping out or he has a job. I started doing odd jobs at 14, I bought my truck outright for 5k when I was 15 and have since put in another 10k between aftermarket things and repairs. I currently have 5k cash and I am 17 as well.

Even if he has a job, he must be getting about 15$ an hour and working non stop because there's no way he has that much on his own

I started working at 14 at 10/hr. I bought my truck for 5k at 15. By 16 I dumped another 10k into my truck. At 17 I still have the truck and 5k in my pocket. By 18/19 I hope to sell my truck and buy a new truck. I worked mainly weekends until I was 16, then I got into online school and worked a lot more when work was available but by no means could I work a 40 hour week for a month straight (because there was not that much work available). It is possible for him to have that amount of money at his age, he may also have rich parents that give him a 500/mo allowance or something lol. It really depends on how you save your money.

You could buy something more reliable & cheaper to fix for a first car. Trust me BMWs are a pain in the ass, especially older ones as they do NOT last long at all. A friend of mine used to work for BMW as a Mechanic, the type of shit he saw with them was unbelievable.
