Went to wireless yesterday, could only get there for the last day because I was working Friday and Saturday.

Pusha T on the Pepsi stage was fire! Half hour performance was too GOOD! Whole crowd loved him! Definitely the main highlight for me!
Wretch 32 on the main stage was the opener and in my opinion was better than both David Guetta and Nicki Minaj.
Jessie J not really keen on her music, but she put on a decent performance and the crowd enjoyed it.

Has anyone else hit any festivals so far this summer, or what festivals are you going to? If you've already been who were the highlights for you?

I haven't been to any this summer, unfortunately. I was SO close to being able to go to bonnrroo with a group of friends, but it just came down to it being out of my budget. I'm going to California later this summer for a LA Galaxy / Seattle Sounders game (soccer fans, anyone?), so that took precedence.

However I'm from Louisiana and we have a couple really good festivals:

Voodoo:

Your basic music fest, has everything, family environment (for the most part), apart from the drunk teens/college kids like myself running around. People take drugs there but they are definitely not as prevalent as the following festival... (On Halloween and two days after, 3 days total)

Foo Fighters, Skrillex, Action Bronson, City & Colour, Pretty Lights, Flux Pavillion, Rise Against, twenty one pilots, Outcast, Zedd, Arctic Monkeys, AWOLNATION, 30 Seconds To Mars... Just to name a few I've seen there.

Buku:

This is my favorite of the two. A much younger crowd. A whole lot more intoxication from a variety of things. (This isn't why it's my favorite, just describing the environment). While the bigger artists (radio artists) go to voodoo, Buku still has great music. It's more of and electronic music festival, however the music is still very good, especially if you're into the electronic scene. This festival is two days long and is usually in March.

Chance the Rapper, A$AP Rocky, G-Eazy, RL Grime, Schoolboy Q, Ellie Goulding, Zedd, Smallpools, David Guetta, Tyler the Creator, Carnage, DJ Snake, Baauer, Pusha T, Bassnectar, Passion Pit, Empire the Sun, Porter Robinson, Flosstradamus, Boregore, Odesza, Portugal the Man, Ghostface Killah... Just to name a few I've seen there.

I've been to Buku twice and will undoubtedly go again. I'v been to Voodoo once, and am excited to go later this year as one of my favorite "underground" (ugh, hate using this) bands, Title Fight, is going.

Dream Festival... COACHELLA! ...I will go one day!!!

The only people I would have checked at Buku would have been Ghostface Killah, Bassnectar, Pusha T, and maybe Baauer

To each his own I guess! I was stoked to see all of them.

.

Oh and I forgot to add to my original reply, I've been to Warped Tour 5 years in a row now. Wouldn't really consider it a festival, though. Definitely not like the ones you're talking about! Still though, I absolutely love Warped Tour. It's probably my favorite day out of the summer/year.

Yeah, I hear you br0. I'm just not a fan of that younger mainstream hip hop crowd. ASAP Rocky is alright, but definitely not a fan of g easy or chance rapper. *shrugs*

Voodoo looks solid though.

Haven't been to any really recent festivals. I went to the Eminem & Rihanna concert last summer, even though im not a big Eminem fan these days. He used to be great, but his last few albums have been shit. Still was a really good show, he performed a lot of his older stuff from Marshal Mather LP and Slim Shady LP.

I used to got Rock The Bells each year.

I would absolutely love to see Rage Against the Machine. Seeing them now probably just wouldn't be the same, though. Very lucky if you got to see them!!! Their guitarist, Tom Morello, is one of my absolute favorite guitarists of all time along with Dickey Betts of The Allman Brothers Band. (They're both very different I know) Tom is doing a set with Slash (eh, I'm indifferent about him) at Voodoo this year. I'm pretty excited for it.

And in response to the whole "younger generation electronic music", I have to admit that it is SUCH a mindless genre. Even a lot of modern rap and radio rock is the same way. It's unfortunate. I feel like I've missed out being born in the 90s when it comes to music. It wasn't until the late 2000s until I started to mature and really started to grasp my own musical opinion. I have to say there have been some great musical acts to come around during my generation, but there are definitely tons and tons of bland, mediocre ones.

This is a bold statement, but it seems like most popular music acts/songs these days aren't very intricate, they're just catchy.
