People get so caught up with the harsh rules of the old testament that they forget that the new testament is all about forgiveness with faith and to love everyone as equals. Its sad.

Well if god once said "Aye I dont like that" then who snipped his old words and said "LETS PLAYYY BALLLLL!!" I think I'mma write a 3rd testament..

Putting aside what Lavish has said and looking at it from a purely Biblical perspective, it is a very complicated discussion.

There are a lot of arguments for and against it, but most Christians look to Jesus and his teachings for guidance. In the case of homosexuality, Jesus said nothing. His silence can't be taken as acceptance, but it does beg the question of why such a heinous crime against God was not mentioned once by his son.

Those who say Jesus was against it point to Paul's Epistles to the Romans and Corinthians as evidence.
Paul says that:
"... Because of their idolatry, God gave them up to degrading passions. Their women exchanged natural intercourse for unnatural, and in the same way also the men, giving up natural intercourse with women, were consumed with passion for one another. Men committed shameless acts with men."

While that might seem very straightforward and cut and dry, a closer examination of the words used tells a different story.
The first line states that these homosexual acts are because of Idolatry, they do not cause God's anger, the Idolatry does.
The words, 'giving up' and 'exchange' suggest that their nature was once heterosexual and that they are choosing to turn away from God, this says nothing about natural homosexuals, those who have always been homosexual.

Paul would have also known that Idolatrous sects would have used prostitutes to perform sex acts and devote themselves to the Idols. This is not your standard consensual homosexual practices, but rather prostitution is seen as forced and non-consensual sex by God.

However, some would argue that this is irrelevant because Jesus said that "It is easier for Heaven and Earth to pass away than for the smallest part of the letter of the law to become invalid." - Luke 16:17
This includes Leviticus and its laws condemning homosexuality.

In short, an argument can be made for and against homosexuality with the Bible.
Most modern day Christians accept that homosexuality is a natural process and they do what Jesus is famous for, loving and accepting.

I also love how you congratulated the judges for making a decision that should not have been theirs.

Let's not act like the "Gays are an abomination / kill all gays" crowd haven't been arrogant with their beliefs.

It was already legal in my state, but this is a huge step for the LGBT community.

On behalf of the rest of the LGBT's i want to say thank you for any and all support.

I understand your opinion, and your concern but it changes nothing. Instead of arguing and getting upset and being rude to people on a gaming website, where for the most part its a very kind and loving community, write to the government and voice your opinions.

I am personally sorry that this effects you greatly, but if you not homosexual, let it go. This will not effect you at all, other than emotionally disturb you. But whats great about humans, is we can effectively deal with emotional disturbances by not thinking about it, or just accepting it as it is. We live in the 21st century, living in the United States of America where the citizens have FREEDOM to do as we please. This should have been a no brainier years ago. Get over yourself, and stop trying to control peoples actions and the way they live. Thanks.

And on behalf of this topic, I am extremely pleased that this is finally here and they made the right decision. Its a huge day for all LGBT's, and I wish them all the luck.
