$80 cheaper with an actual good quality PSU. The G1 units from EVGA were poor quality. The GS units are great. The motherboard is pretty ugly IMO, but I left it in there because I'm assuming it matches your colour scheme? I'm also assuming your case is decent and will be compatible with the mobo.

what about the g2 series and is that motherboard any decent it says its got what im looking for

and also this should be able to run everything out there in 1080p on highest settings for awhile then down the road i should be able to throw in another 970 in 2 way sli and keep up with everything or what is your opinion on that

G2 series are good as well. G2>GS, but the GS units are still great. The motherboard is alright, wouldn't be my choice but it'll do.

970 is more than enough for 1080p. You can add a 2nd 970 at any point and be able to slay games at 1440p, so you'll be good to go.

Motherboard doesn't make a huge difference, they're all just similarly priced motherboards and look much nicer IMHO. Up to you though.

Personally I think that if you get Intel then you are better off with a GTX, I have a 970 myself and I can run everything on ultra @ 1080p.

I recommend MSI over Zotac (personal preference) but Zotac cards are good too. I've never heard of Team Elite Plus RAM so I would have to recommend G.Skill Ripjaws and you need a SSD for your boot drive, if you want to go cheap then go for a Mushkin Advanced 120GB. The Devil's Canyon i5 4690K is an excellent choice and I've had bad luck with Gigabyte boards so I would have to recommend an ASUS z97 board. The power supply is good and I think Seagate is the best way to go as I've had better luck with Seagate drives.

Lots of wrong in here. Having an Intel CPU doesn't make AMD GPU's any worse. Just because you haven't heard of Team Elite, doesn't make it a poor choice. Whether you've heard of 'em or not, is irrelevant. RAM is RAM. Regardless of brand, latency, speed, timings etc and paying more than you have to for RAM, simply for brand name or something is a waste of money. You don't "need" an SSD for your boot drive at all. It's better to have one, but it's not a necessity. Nothing wrong with Gigabyte, Gigabyte have some great motherboards.

OP-290x vs GTX 970, it's pretty much 6 or half a dozen. The 290x is much less efficient than the 970 though, and I would take the 970 over a 290x. I could have gone with XFire 290x's in my rig, but went with SLI 970s instead. Up to you though.
