I keep deleting unwanted photos from my photo gallery but they keep coming back every so often. I don't think there's any back up account as I haven't set one up. How do I stop them from coming back? If k have to delete all photos to do this then I will but I'd prefer to avoid that if it's possible.

You seem to know about Google's backup service so we can skip the introductory. Sometimes, however, Google Photos will not open on the tab that shows all the pictures. You might have to look around there and try switching tabs. I know this is a bit confusing, could not think of an easier way to phrase this. Haven't had my phone (Samsung Galaxy Alpha) in a while due to it was stolen. If you could provide me with your phone make and model I may be able to help a bit more.
