I'm like 99.9% positive (Not diagnosed) that have ADD or ADHD, i seem to have symptoms of both. But i know its real. Someone could tell me directions, or we could read a chapter of a book in class and I will space out and won't remember a word that was said. It affects other worse but some use it as an excuse to get it easier in school.

In full honesty as soon as i was put on Ritalin i went from a delinquent that was suspended on a bi-weekly basis to a straight A student. My family situation improved for the better and my life stabilized. I don't quite care if ADHD is fake or not, yet i know that Ritalin works and can change lives for the better.

I honestly have no idea if ADHD is real or not. The argument about making up different disorders to prescribe drugs and make money is very believable though. I definitely have my doubts regarding various mental disorders, their diagnosis and treatment.

I don't take meds, but I went to the doctor and she said I needed to actually see a psychiatrist instead, and my mom continues to say there's nothing wrong with me, because she doesn't " see " it.

No, if a doctor says I should go see a psychiatrist then that's what needs to happen.

Most doctors just try to prescribe everyone drugs instead of seeing a Psychiatrist. Also maybe your mom is in denial.

She probably is, but I don't bring it up anymore cause she always bursts out yelling for no reason.

I guess maybe it's hard knowing your son struggles in school, so I guess I can see where she's coming from.

I'm not sure if I should bring up the topic again though, cause it annoys me to hell when she starts yelling.

I went to psychiatrists for years, did absolutely nothing to help me. I also went through multiple programs which i am confident did more damage to my long term mental health than good.

Just like cancer, Its a scam, They have the cure, but why would they put a less expensive cure out? Why would they stop making money from charging people the whole way up through treatment? Such a scam, There are so many plants out there and vitamins that destroy cancer cells that the FDA has banned for NO reason, If I ever get cancer, I would become a scientist, Go to the amazon, Where many cancer destroying plants are, Then Do what I can to save my self, screw what the FDA tells you.
