I have been playing for a couple of hours now, don't seem to be improving at all. To be honest I really suck.

Just work on mouse & weapon spray control, learning the maps, what places to focus on. After a while you'll get the hang of it

How do I learn the spray though? Also how do I counteract the recoil?
Will you just tell me on a few examples:
1. AK47
2. M4A4
3. Galil

Depending on the range you will have different methods of achieving this:
Long Range: Fire short bursts or single shots at a time
Short range: As you spray, move your mouse down ever so slightly as if you were moving your crosshair down, this will help keep the spray down and level it vertically
The AK47 has high accuracy on its first shot, and very high damage; it can kill an enemy with a helmet in one shot to the head. The M4A4 is balanced, with moderate recoil and high accuracy and the first 10ish shots have little recoil. The Galil is slightly weaker than the other rifles but has good penetration and magazine size, so you can spray with it at close range for longer than other rifles.
Aim for the head for most shots as it will be a cleaner and more efficient kill. Damage to the head is significantly greater, around 4x higher than damage to most other parts of the body.

Do you know anybody that is bad willing to play with me? (UK)
When will I be placed? I've played about 10-13 Games.

I don't have a custom crosshair, although I know you can get them. It is mainly down to personal preference.
You can find people in the ShoutBox or the [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] to play with
After 10 Competitive Wins you will be given a rank, win more and you will go up ranks, lose more and you will go down ranks.

You're not going to improve in a couple of hours. And please don't compare this game to cod, it's nothing like it. CS actually takes skill and strategy to win. I recommend playing some casual games online before competitive to practice. Also look up some videos on YouTube. TheWarOwl and FrankieOnPCin1080p have some good tips/trick videos for CS.
Also try downloading some custom practice maps from the workshop to play on by yourself. There are maps where you can practice headshots, or with a certain gun etc.
