Sounds like your GPU is bad. That's horrible if it is.

Test the GPU on another PC. If it works, it might be your PSU if it requires 6/8 pin connectors. That or your slot is bad. It can be a lot of things..

It was working absolutely fine today before my new rig came... I think I'm just doing something wrong?

Either your display connector isn't plugged into the GPU, or you haven't connected your GPU properly. Make sure your display cable is connected to the GPU, and not motherboard. Make sure that the GPU is connected to the PSU properly and seated properly in your motherboard.

My friend had problems with his 280x when he got a new motherboard and cpu. I also had a few problems at one point. Does your cpu have intergrated graphics? You may need to go into your bios and change a few settings.

Also try resetting your bios.

If you could give me a little bit of guidance, that'd be great

You'll want to clear your CMOS to make sure new hardware is recognized. Different boards can have different methods of doing this, so find the manual for yours on the manufacturer's site and follow the instructions for clearing the CMOS. Ctrl+F will help.

Ok mate I will private message you. I thought it would be a piece of cake putting a GPU on but it turns out it isn't...
