Well. The only thing you can upgrade without having to completely build a new system is ram and GTX card.

Minecraft is CPU intensive game.
Recording is also intensive on CPU.

The only real upgrade that would cut down on the lag would be to get a new CPU which would for sure require a new mobo too.

I assume you have an R7 260(X)??
if so, then it's ok for MC

it's $18 over budget, but well worth it.

Go with the i3, the hyperthreading will help you out alot. The fx is on a dead chip set, its old.

The difference is that it's a dead socket
I have a 6300 and my only upgrade route is intel, which requires a new mobo in the process.
if you get the i3, you can throw an i5/i7/Xeon in at a later date.
also, the i3 has 2 cores and 4 logical cores due to Hyper-Threading. So the i3 is essentially a quad core like the 4300 you linked.

An SSD is always a good option, however I wouldn't sacrifice a CPU upgrade for an SSD if I were you.
