Hey I need help.. I need to get rid of a RAT virus.. What do I do?.. I used to have one then reset my computer to factory settings.. But idk if it is back.. Because I'm not so sure if all they need is an ip.. I thought I just needed to download a software.. But no.. It happen last time without an application, but is it possible for them to just control my computer with a simple ip address? Is there a way to check?.. Or am I just overreacting?..

a RAT cant be installed or controlled with just an IP address if you done the full
factory reset you should be fine and have no issue with the previously installed RAT on your computer its more than likely gone now but i suggest installing some software to try and help prevent this next time because RATs can be very dangerous things you are able to steal whole loads of information that the person controlling the RAT shouldnt see.

Zone alarm is a secondary firewall this will prevent a RAT from accessing the internet once you complete manual setup this is a prevention for the future

If you factory reset your computer you will be good.
