My mom went ape shit and smashed my Xbox 360 slim. It still works, although the disk drive is not opening. I'm thinking of purchasing a new disk drive and replacing it. How am I able to tell which disk drive I'm supposed to buy so it will be compatible with my Xbox? Also, if there's another way to fix this then please let me know ASAP!

Do not just buy a new drive an stick it in the xbox.

This will not work as it is more complicated. to change the drive you have to get the drives key using a computer and flash the drives key to the new drive using special equipment

If i was you i would just try fixing the old drive. it may just be the rubber belt that has snapped.

You would also have to change the DVD keys, requiring you to buy more than just a drive. You're beter of just fixing the old one.
