Had mine taken out exactly a week ago. Here's my advice:

Don't force yourself to eat food unless its necessary. Avoid hard/chewy food at all cost. I didn't do that and ended up bleeding until the 4th day which really sucked.

Take your painkillers. Don't think your tough shit and don't need that weak stuff. You need it. (Unless you're into hurting yourself and waking up in the middle of the night in pain, but that's none of my business). They also knock you out and make it easy to fall asleep.

Clean your mouth. You want to avoid infections. I was prescribed some special mouthwash. If they prescribe one to you as well, use it even if it tastes like Satan's gooch. Personally, they gave me a syringe so I could shoot the mouthwash directly at my stitches. Not a pleasant thing to do but it has to be done. It helps the healing process and helps with your horrible breath. (You probably wont be able to brush your teeth for the first 24 hours)

Obviously if you're going to drink a smoothie or milkshake don't use a straw. Sucking on anything will make you bleed.

I have a tendency to drool so I ended drooling blood on my pillow. That sucked so I would recommend putting a towel over your pillow if you tend to drool yourself.

All in all, you're better safe then sorry. Follow the advice from this thread and from your dentist, don't rush the healing process, and most of all prepare yourself well. It's going to suck.

Also forgot to mention, the first 24 hours you'll want to put ice on your cheeks and then after that warm towels. Don't overdo ice.

make sure you shit before you go it. Anesthetics are known to relax your whole body and well, you can figure the rest out.

Its really not that bad. You just wont be able to drink/eat properly for like 2-3 days. Buy lots of soup and stuff like that
