Very good topic since I'm looking to get a car very soon and do my driving.
Got quoted for a relatively old focus, 1.4/1.6 I think for over 5k... yeah...

What litre isit? and how old are you?
It's a 3.6L V6, I am doing a 6.0L V8 swap on it though. I am 19 too.
You might as well sell the v6 and add money for the GT. But if you decide to do the swap you should do a manual swap as well. Engine Swaps aren't easy.

Im pretty sure your insurance would be a lot more than 2700 if this car was yours at 18
I got a quote for a BMW 1 series and it was 3700 on a provisional.
