Ok lemme break it down for you all "2012" Conspiracy.
The Mayans did in fact believe in sacrificing, Unlike the Aztecs the only Sacrificed to ONE god. Now the did this sacrifice more then once a day, the believed that the Sun would die or Not come up if this didn't happen. Now the Mayans invented many things such as a calendar very similar to ours today. Now there was a "Cycle" that ever 52 Years a New cycle would begin. So as you know this whole "2012" has not been going on for 52 years, A new cycle has begun. The whole point here is that have us as Americans or any other Country, Civilization been sacrificing people to the "Gods" or "God". Now, yet the sun comes up every day. And the 52 year cycle has happened numerous times since the Conspiracy of of "2012".
There is some knowledge of the whole Mayan calender situation, I have done a great deal of papers dealing with the Aztecs and the Mayans. They are truly extraordinary people and one amazing civilization. I figured to post the actual truth of the Ancient civilization.

If you mean mayan leaders at the times the "predictions" were made then their as reliable as the internet.
It would be word of mouth at this point, Passed down through generations some mistake was made.
