I used to mess around with graphic design a while back but slowly fell out near the end of high school, and now that I am fully transitioned into college I want to get back into it. I am taking some programming courses so I have gotten the idea of developing a flash game from the ground up(no idea what kind yet) but would like to have a graphics tablet to do a complete design with instead of fighting with a mouse. So, I am looking for a good graphics tablet, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. The most I would feel comfortable spending would be $300. Any other questions, just ask.

Start out with this one before you drop $300 on it, if you find you REALLY love it then drop 300 on a screen-in version.

There's no reason to spend anywhere near $300 on a graphics tablet when you are trying it for the first time. You should go for a cheaper tablet, such as the one Zef linked above. It's still a useful piece of kit, and will save you some money. Having a basic tablet will allow you to practice and hone your skills, before investing a larger sum of money to advance further. If you decide you don't like tablet drawing, or don't use it very often, then you'll have wasted quite a lot of money!

Take a look at tablets that have configurable button shortcuts on them too. Personally I find this feature useful as it improves my workflow, but others like the more simple approach and find that they get in the way. Choose wisely, don't spend too much, and pick the tablet that is right for you.

I probably should have clarified that, my fault. The $300 was once I got used to using a tablet and I was looking for suggestions on higher-end tablets to look at buying. Never the less, I appreciate both replies and the Bamboo Splash is actually what was used in one of my high school classes, I was looking at getting [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] tablet to start off with and like you both mentioned, get used to everything.
