I have made this topic to clarify what is happening at the moment with PSN and to keep you updated.
As you know Lizard Squad DDoSed the Xbox Live and Playstation Network servers last night in an attempt to prove themselves. The Xbox Live servers when back up after a few hours whilst the PSN servers stayed now. Kim DotCom reached a deal with Lizard Squad to stop them from DDoSing the servers. The PSN servers came back online around 5-6 AM GMT.
The PSN servers have gone down again this morning, I can find no reason as to why.

UPDATE (10:44) Still unable to connect to PSN. Error Code NW-31456-9
News sources have release that Sony have come out with a statement saying there is no ETA of the servers coming back online. Sill trying to find original source of the statement.
UPDATE (11:16) Found a Twitter that claims to be Playstation Support. They seem to be giving out information. [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
UPDATE (11:25) Still unable to connect to PSN. Error Code CE-33987-0
UPDATE (17:10) Haven't been able to check if the servers are up until now as Virgin Media provide awful internet! It seems to be up and running for me. I'm able to redeem codes and join parties.

UPDATE (12:30) AskPlaystation have announced that the servers are starting to come back online. [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
UPDATE (13:37) It seems that when the attacks happened Sony didn't take down their servers meaning the DDoS attacks fried the PSN servers. They've had to get new ones so that's why it has taken so long for them to come back online. ChampChong explained it in a video he uploaded earlier. Here is the video:

UPDATE (23:27) PSN is online for some users and offline to others. Users may get error code "NW-31194-B"

UPDATE (00:18) PSN is now fully online for PS3 and PS Vita. PS4 services are available in certain areas.

UPDATE (09:32) Playstation Network is now fully online.
UPDATE (22:42) Playstation Network is having 'Intermittent Connectivity' issues which means that sometimes you will be able to connect to the servers and other times you will not.

Limiting them the time to put up every single put down over Christmas, this meaning the PSN is back up and running but not to everyone. So that the servers don't get overcrowded causing another outage. Moral of the story if you are online enjoy it as a blessing. An to everyone else all servers will be back to normal functions by late afternoon.

Yeah i still cant sign in and i really wannna play onlin,

Still really annoyed that it isn't back up, following everything on twitter yesterday about it was quite fun, although people are taking credit for Sonys work.
If LizardSquad were to blame then Sony were warned so it's their fault for not protecting, I just feel sorry for people who got new consoles yesterday and hoped to play them

I was scrolling through facebook and come across the lizard squad Ddos attacks and apparently Lizard squad are not responsible for Playstation going down again this morning some other hacking group has Ddosed the servers as soon as they came back on at 6am this morning.

I love psn, but, I don't think they are even trying.
Xbox one went back up at this time yesterday.

It is a joke, that it is still down, I my self had 2 days off work to have a few games with my friends but I haven't been able to, I have to admit has passed me off a little bit.

this was the reason i went from OS3 to Xbox360 in the first place, Now im have tempted to do the same thing again but go to XB1
