Because instead of people replying to others that were looking for a group for raid they would simply create a new thread.

If 6 people wanted to raid...6 new threads would appear.

Now if people use the sticky they can see who else is on to do it.
But I guess IQ levels are not the highest around these parts as we can see from all the bitching

We made the stickies so the section isn't filled with people looking for others to play with. We like to see active forums but it was being flooded with similar topics.

I'l expand on this.

Imagine you get into Destiny and look to find out more information about the game, weapons, bosses, gameplay, specials ect ect and so you think "Oh, the site I visit all the time has a Destiny section on it - i'l find that out there" - That just wasn't the case.

There was pages and pages of topics looking for members to join their group or members looking for a group to play with.

All of these topics would become outdated rapidly with the sheer volume of spam that was generated through it.

By merging the raids into two stickied threads then it cleans up this section for other more informative content. We can discuss the daily bounties, different strategys for different bosses, new information and share experiences instead of "JOIN MY GAME MUST BE 30+ WITH GJALLERHORN AND NOT BE A SCRUB KID" threads everywhere.

Also - With us limiting the stickies to 1 hour posts it means that the replies on the stickies are always going to be recent, fresh and hopefully still around when a member comes looking for a group to join for the raid.
